Installation Requirements - This page is a work in progress

When getting ready for new equipment you will need to make sure the power, water, waste and bench space are suitable for it. Below are some pdf files and information on each area to help prevent set backs on installation day.

Most machines sold from Espresso Medic include free installation conditional on the site being ready.

If the site is not ready there maybe additional charges for a return or reschedule of the install.

Power Requirements

Generally the machines power supply (power point or isolator) needs to be with in 1m of the location the machine will be placed. The power supply needs to match or be more than what the machine requires. Espresso Medic is licensed to install machines as "Hard wired" into an isolator, we preferer this connection over plugs for any machine 25amps and over, or a 56 series plug.

If this is all gobbledygook to you please check out the PDF attached for more information, your electrician is also welcome to call me to discuses any power needs.

Plumbing Requirements

Normally the water supply point for the machine needs to be with in 1m of the machines location.

I recommend using a quality 1/2" male tap, not the plastic topped 1/4 turn mini stops a lot of plumbers use, these tend to be ok for a while but over time the plastic top gets brittle, the tap gets stiff and then you have a leak and need to turn off the water the top breaks off in your hand and you have water everywhere. Just get a quality tap from the start.

There needs to be space for water filters and a drain point to run the waste water to. If you have jug rinses in the build you will need to allow for them too. Please look at the Plumbing PDF and again, any questions you or your plumber might have please give me a call to discuses.

Bench Space

When planning your fit out you need to consider a number of factors in regards to bench size, shape and location, such as equipment you will have, power and water placement, room for Point of Sales and docket systems, placement and workflow of that equipment, room to grow, will you want another grinder or a bigger machine later?

You'll also need to think about what is it made of, and if you are thinking of using the sandwich prep benches please don't. They are flimsy and often flex and move when you use a heavy coffee machine on them, you can reinforce them but I'd suggest getting a bench built, do it once, do it right.
